10/16/ · Look in The Downloads Folder. Like most computer, Android does come with a “Downloads” folder to store all your downloaded files. If you’ve been using Android for years, this should be obvious to you. To access the Downloads folder, launch the default File Manager app and towards the top, you’ll see the “Download history” option. To be clear, to get this installation going, I have to transfer a file from ANY LOCATION into the Terminal Emulator environment, and that brings the tools that then make the terminal emulator more of a real Linux environment on the Android. The location does not have to be "Download", but that directory was easily enough mapped by my desktop. The location of your downloaded files will depend on what you downloaded and the app that you used to download it. Most of your files are organised within the My Files app, however some files will not appear here. Some apps, such as Netflix, store their downloads securely on your phone and are only available through the app itself.

Usually the DownloadManager handles downloads and the files are then accessed by requesting the file's uri fromthe download manager using a file id to get where file was places which would usually be somewhere in the sdcard/ real or emulated since apps can only read. It's depend! Generally OTA update downloads to system/cache folder It may get deleted soon after you try installing and restart the phone. In Google Nexus phone.
